It's all very well to say that home schooling is best and private schools, next-best. Where can the average family find the money for all that? It's all a matter of priority. If parents want the best for their children, they will find a way.
The tax money to pay for the government school monopoly is going to be stolen anyway, until the 2020s; no hope of recovery. The extra cost can (for home-schooling) be as little as $1,000 per child per year. Not too hard to find.
If one parent stays home to do the bulk of the teaching, that second car may not be needed. There's a few thousand saved right off the bat.
